Instapot Vadacurry


6 qt IP
Channa dal patties
Soak 3/4-1 cup of channa dal for 2 hours then coarsely grind it with 
- salt (3/4 teaspoon)
- red chilies (4-5)
- fennel (3/4 teaspoon)
- ginger 
 
Steam them in idly plates in the IP and set aside.
 
Layer 1: 3 tbspn of oil , 2 tbspn of water
Layer 2: 2 bay leaves, 1 cup of finely chopped onion
Layer3: 2cups of chopped tomatoes, 1 tbspn of opos ginger garlic paste.
Layer 4: 1 tbspn of red chilli powder , 1/2 tbspn of  garam masala, 1/2 tbsp of coriander powder, lil bit turmeric, salt to taste.
Layer5 : channa dal patties (from above).
Steam mode more for 4 mins vent sealed NPR.
After opening i mixed everything together and I added 1/2 cup of water as i needed it like a gravy..

Kulfi (to try)


Recipe:
1. Boil and simmer any type of milk, I used semi skimmed milk - may be 500ml for 15 to 20 mins
2. Add 100gm sugar
3. Acd condensed milk half can ( nestle I used)
4 add grinded nuts, predominantly pistachio n some almonds n cashews
5 Add cardamom powder and any essence (I added a spoon of vanilla essence)
6. Simmer the milk for few more mins, so that it thickens.
7 switch off.. Cool it
8. freeze it for 5 hours (use mold of your choice) we didn't have any.. Used only small stainless tumblers n kinnams n some art pot.
